HIGHLY EXPERIENCED STRESS ENGINEER/ANALYST REQUIRED FOR A HIGHLY CHALLENGING AND ENGAGING CONTRACT ON GOVERNMENT PROJECTS.

Specific areas of work will include stress analysis of the projectile structure which consists of a pressure vessel containing a propellant charge and related components such as the nozzle.

The pressure vessel can take several forms ranging from a traditional monolithic metallic structure to a composite structure comprising several metallic and polymeric components adhesively bonded together. The propellant charge comprises a polymeric material with non linear visco-elastic properties which are characterised in our own laboratories for use in finite element analysis.

Both traditional analytical and advanced finite elements stressing methods (eg Abaqus) are used to determine failure modes, failure loads and safety factors. Implicit within the stress analysis is the thermal analysis to determine the component temperatures.

Analysis if often verified by structural testing. Static testing is conducted onsite where combined pressure, bending and torsional loads are applied across a wide temperature range. Fatigue testing is conducted by external sub-contractors.

Stress analysis of specialist tooling is also conducted covering all stages of manufacture, assembly and testing.

All aspects of the stress analysis are documented and form a key part of the certification process. This includes the compilation of a formal structural design record and presentation of the results to our customers and government representatives.

The ideal candidate would be educated to a minimum degree level and from an aerospace or nuclear background who have been working on classified government projects in their last role.

You will be working as part of a team of multi disciplined engineers on both new and legacy projects. Established in 1976, my client develops and sells quality control instrumentation, sensors and automated gauges for the can making industry.
My client is based in a smart; purpose built premises in Droitwich and employs around 40 people. The company specialises in developing and producing advanced quality control gauges using a range of technologies such as lasers, X:rays, and optical metrology for measuring dimensions, coating thickness, embossing and other process parameters.

The Role

Due to continuous growth they require a Senior Electrical Controls project Engineer to cover our site in Droitwich
To fulfil the Project Management requirements of this role, candidates should have experience in planning and managing team resources in order to meet project time scales and milestones, ideally using Microsoft Project. Experience of product lifecycle management would also be useful, including product improvement and cost reduction exercises. You should have the ability to maintain and improve development processes and ensure adherence to all relevant standards, as well as good document generation, control and management.

Primary Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Designing and implementing of electrical and control systems, and associated control software using in:house and third party controllers.
Creating and managing of project plans, product improvements, change notes, processes, standards and documentation.

The Candidate

You will be highly skilled and experienced in designing electrical and control systems, ideally for industrial automation or precision metrology based applications. You should have the ability to both create and work from a technical specification, and be able to design suitable machine control installations in conjunction with mechanical designers. A good and proven all round technical background is essential.

Successful candidates should have:

- Dealt with suppliers and producing BOMs
- Ability to produce electrical schematic drawings using AutoCAD; ideally AutoCAD Electrical 2012
- Experience of motion control systems and software (Stepper drives)
- Experience in electrical enclosure specification (IP rating etc)
- Experience in enclosure cooling (Air conditioning specification)
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems as used on machines
- Knowledge of the application and use of sensors and instrumentation as used on machines
- Programming experience of PLC/control systems

Our client, The Adler and Allan Group provide a range of professional oil industry services and environmental services to a wide range of clients throughout the UK and Ireland.

Their services consist of spillage response, disaster relief, fuel and tank installation, fuel distribution, waste management plus a range of complementary services that includes tank cleaning, pollution prevention and emergency fuel deliveries. They have highly trained teams, specialist equipment and vehicles located within their strategically important network of depots and treatment plants and are one of the UK's leading oil and environmental service providers.

Due to an increase in customer demand, they are now looking to recruit a full time HGV Driver/Operator to join the team at their depot in Droitwich. The duties of the role will include driving any company vehicle for which the successful candidate is qualified to do; duties will also include cleaning and removing oil, fuel tanks and interceptors to include uplifting liquids from various outlets and oil transfers; drain and interceptor cleaning, oil spill response.

The successful HGV Driver will be qualified to minimum HGV Class 2, ADR trained would be an advantage as would tank and HPW cleaning experience.

In addition to the above, the successful HGV Driver would ideally possess a digi-tacho card and a willingness to undertake any additional duties for which they are suitably qualified and capable.

You will need to prove your experience and knowledge and will be asked to produce evidence of such knowledge at the interview stage. You will be required to demonstrate your skills in the early stages of employment under test conditions.
