Specification Technologist

Specification Technologist, - Bow, London. Salary circa £23,000

An opportunity to join our client successful London based team has arisen. Principle accountabilities include:-

Internal & External Customer Specifications
1. To create, issue and version control internal factory line specifications
2. To set up, amend and approve all external customer specifications or relevant technical information with attention to detail for Co-op, Asda, Sainsburys, Somerfield, Boots, Alpha, core range & GFTG.
3. Create pack copies (ingredient declarations and Nutritional) for artwork generation of all other external Customers in the internal / specified format
4. To keep up-to date with Government body and customer technical policies ensuring these are followed at all times
5. To follow all Process Development procedures, ensuring these are saved / filed correctly
Artwork sign off
6. To assist in the review of artwork submitted against the relevant pack copy using the label sign off procedure making amends and requesting the changes where necessary
7. To assist in the sign off of final artwork and ensure release to label printers
8. To assist in the filing of all artwork and approved pack copies with the relevant Customer specifications to ensure product change traceability
9. Sign off label all new deliveries against the signed off pack copy using the label sign off procedure

HARA (Hazard Analysis Risk Assessments)
1. The successful candidate will take a leading role in the development and approval of all raw materials
2. Assist in answering any outstanding queries from the HARA team
3. Support in confirming all HARA conditions for product approval and communicate to the Technical services Manager and Goods in team
4. Support in maintaining & up-dating the database of approved raw material numbers
5. Support in maintaining and up-dating the database of approved finished products including all conditions of approval
6. Support in maintaining & up-dating the internal HARA guidelines as new information or parameters are received from Sainsbury's
7. Support in maintaining and up-dating hard copy and computerised HARA filing to ensure total product HARA traceability

The candidate will also heck the data of raw materials supplied confirming nutritional values stated and verify new raw materials are legal ensuring accuracy of specifications from the innovations team.
